Christopher's 3rd Birthday

On August 23rd we celebrated Christopher's 3rd birthday.  He was very excited and hardly slept the night before.  We were going to wait to do presents until Ryan came home from school but Christopher was up as soon as he heard Ryan awake so we ended up doing presents before Ryan left. This year Christopher wanted a "baseball" birthday.
Nathanial gave Christopher a Spider-Man book.

Happy Birthday Christopher!
Whenever we ask Christopher what he wants to eat, it doesn't matter what meal, he always says, "boxed mac n' cheese" So we told him that on his birthday he could have mac 'n cheese for every meal.  So for breakfast we had boxed mac 'n cheese.
despite the picture he really was happy to have mac 'n cheese.
After breakfast the boys played for a while before we headed downtown to the Cleveland Indian's baseball game.  We were originally planning on going Saturday, but one of my friends, Angela Baker, told me that they were having a special on tickets: buy 1 adult get 3 kids FREE. So we decided that I would take the kids and meet our friends there. It really worked out good that Christopher was able to play with friends on his birthday without me having to plan a birthday party.

This was Emily's first Indian's Game and she was not happy, she was tired!
It was a good game and the kids played the entire time!
Christopher was excited to hold up his "Happy Birthday" sign.  He was on the big screen but I wasn't able to get a picture of him.

Towards the end of the game they start to give away various items (balls, shirts, bags, and things).  They were in our section and every time that I would try to get close enough to get anything they were done throwing the items. It was too hard to get 3 kids down to the front and let alone try to catch something one handed. After the 3rd try I decided to play the "cute little boys" trick.  The people who were throwing the items were sitting 10 rows in front of us.  I told Nathanial to take Christopher's hand and walk down to them and ask if they can have something because it was Christopher's birthday.  I was sure that they wouldn't be able to say no to them.  I was wrong. They told Nathanial and Christopher "no".  I couldn't believe it.  Christopher turned back around and looked up at me and said, "they said no".  With the saddest pouty face the boys slowly walked back to our seats.  If you have ever seen Christopher pout you know that it is the CUTEST thing EVER!! Well that did it, they came up to us and gave each of the boys a bag. They were very excited.
It ended up being a great game.  At the bottom of the 9th we were down by 1 run with 2 guys on base.  S Choo hit a home run and the Indian's won!
When we got home from the baseball game Christopher wanted to ride his new bike...
He was so excited on his bike.
After he rode on his bike for a while we headed to Red Robin for our traditional birthday dinner.  Christopher had mac n' cheese.
Our baby boy is 3! He was very happy about it.
His drink.
As you can see he was very excited to get his ice cream.
We ended up getting home around 9 o'clock at night and we tried to talk Christopher into waiting until the next day to eat his cake but he insisted on eating it on his birthday.

I cut a slice for Nathanial, Ryan, and myself and gave the rest of the cake to Christopher to eat.
All day on Christopher's birthday he kept asking, "is it my birthday?" I would tell him that it was and he would smile and say, "oh".
Playing with Daddy.

The days following Christopher's birthday were filled with birthday cards and other birthday wishes.  Every time that he would get something in the mail for his birthday he would ask, "is it my birthday?" I would say no. He would then ask, "Am I still 3?" He is a cute boy and we are very thankful to have him as our little boy.
On Saturday, August 27th we went to an Indian's game with Ryan since he couldn't come on Christopher's birthday. It was a commemorative mug night.

Isn't she cute?!?!

The Baseball Statue
This time we sat in the upper reserved section surrounded by noisy, drunk, foul mouthed Ohio State students.  Luckily for us there was a small group of 10-12 year-olds who were talking incessantly sat behind us to drown out the college students.
It was loud.

Emily was awake and alert for most of the game.
We were able to see the game pretty well from our seats.  They weren't the best seats but they weren't the worst either.

Emily fell asleep, what a little doll.
Christopher is such a C-U-T-I-E P-I-E!
Nathanial is becoming a silly boy!
Me with my kiddos!
It was a good game we ended up buying a black raspberry ice cream to share and it was DELICIOUS!! It also ended up being a really good game.  We were down by 2 runs at the bottom of the 8th.  We had to guys on base and Cabrera hit a home run to put the Indian's up by 1.  The Indian's held off the Royals in the top of the 9th to end the game!  I can say that every game that I have been to the Indian's have won, maybe they should give me season tickets :)

We got home really late, Nathanial couldn't make it to the back door so he had to stop at the slide to lay down before he tried to go inside.
