The 4th of July is one of our family's favorite holidays. We were very sad to miss out on the festivities in Idaho.
We started the day off with decorating the boys' bikes for the bike parade at the Church...
We enjoyed a potluck breakfast with our ward friends...The boys were getting ready for the parade...
And they are off...
Christopher wanted to ride the scooter...
Nathanial was loving the parade (we forgot their helmets, normally they can't ride bikes without them)...
Christopher gave up about half way around the parking lot so Ryan and I took turns pushing him...
Christopher stuck his hands out so that he could fly like Buzz Lightyear (the scooter is a Buzz and so are his sunglasses)...
Mily slept the entire time, she fell asleep on the way to the Church and didn't wake up until we were home...
Christopher playing on the scooter after Ryan and I decided not to push him any more...
After the parade I was so tired that I fell asleep on the couch while Ryan was making lunch...
After lunch we headed over to a friend/classmate of Ryan's for cake and ice cream to celebrate his birthday, also on the 4th...
After cake and ice cream we headed home for naps before we were to leave for a BBQ at the Madsen's house. It was fun to sit and chat with friends while the kids played.
The bigger boys, Nathanial, Christopher, and Luke were playing with the water guns...
After a while Nathanial started to beg to see Jen's cat so she brought out this little kitty that they are fostering to play with. The kids couldn't get enough of the kitty...
Also that night we discovered that there was a cupcake thief at the Madsen house. A certain child was told "no more cupcakes" after eating two. This child left to play on the grass, or so the adults all thought. The next thing we know there is a little hand reaching up the cupcake tier inching closer and closer to the forbidden cupcake. Ah-ha! He is caught, but he is too quick and grabs the cupcake and runs like the wind! This little child had walked over to the grass, through the bushes, and around to the back of the table to complete his mission. The child? Well it is the one and only, CHRISTOPHER!!
