On Saturday, May 11th we celebrated Emily turning eight by having her baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It was a wonderful day. Emily was blessed to have her Grandparents join her for this wonderful occasion.
Emily was really excited for her baptism. She also told me she was a little bit scared. She looked so pretty in her white dress.
Our family was happy to share this special moment with Emily. Can't you tell how happy they are by their faces?
We also decorated the gym in pink and white which was our theme for Emily's baptism.
After Emily was baptized and I was helping her change we had a really neat talk. I asked her how she felt and she replied with a typical "good". I then told her that she was as clean as she could be. That everything bad that she had ever done was gone, washed away, left behind in the water and that all her sins would go down the drain with the water never to come back. She got a big grin on her face and gave me a big hug. Emily is such a sweet girl and I am so proud of her choice to be baptized.
"...All those who humble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits, and witness before the church that hey have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon then the name of Jesus Christ, having a determination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest bu their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church" Doctrine and Covenants section 20 verse 37
