Sue the T-Rex

On Friday, May 11th we headed over to the Museum of Idaho to see Sue the T-Rex.  Sue is the most complete T-Rex skeleton ever found.  Ryan's dad was nice enough to join us...
This was a timed magnetic puzzle that the kids had to put together before the time ran out.
This was a head of a triceratops if you look in the head you see how it sees--from the sides of its head.
The same for the T-Rex but it sees in front on the head
 The Main EVENT...
They took an impression of Sue's skull and made a more complete replica of her skull

This is a REAL dinosaur bone that Nathanial was able to hold
Christopher was able to hold this REAL dinosaur bone
This is a neat display they had a human skeleton and a dinosaur skeleton with the bones that were the same painted the same color (i.e. the skull is painted red on both)
This is what Emily did the whole time
Coming after Ryan!
This was Nathanial's favorite skeleton--a crocodile.
The boys were surprised to find out that turtles were around when dinosaurs were.

At the museum there is a children's play area with lots of hands-on activities for the kids...

Also at the museum, is an Idaho History area.  There are exhibits of various native animals and other major events that took place in Idaho.
They also had a little replica of what "town" looked like back in the day...
