Headlands Beach

Ryan had 2 weeks off so we decided that it would be a good time to see some sites and go to the beach.  On Monday July 27th we went to Headlands Beach on Lake Erie in Mentor, OH.  We have never been to this beach so we thought that we would give it a try.  It has over a mile-long natural sandy beach; granted the sand isn't that great but it was fun.  It was a really windy day so there were some pretty big waves.  We had fun holding the boys and riding the waves.  We were joined by a few of our friends: the Graves', the Brannan's, and the Baker's.
Nathanial was playing in the water and stuck his face in the sand...
The waves were so strong that they would knock over the kids.  Here they are trying to put sticks in the sand and playing in the waves (Ryan, Anela, Nathanial, Christopher, and Wyatt)
Christopher was pretty scared of the water, he stayed on the beach and played in the sand...
Here comes the waves... (Anela, Nathanial, and Wyatt)
Anela, Wyatt, and Nathanial...
(For those of you in Idaho Falls and know Dr. Baker, Anela and Wyatt are his grand-kids)
Nathanial says that he wants to marry Anela after his mission...

Warming up in the sand...
It was a very warm day.  The previous days had been in the high 90's and it was in the 90's when we went so the water was warm...
It was so windy that we had to keep Emily in her car seat otherwise the wind took her breath away and she couldn't breath...
But she was still happy...

Christopher loves his little sister...
What a fun day at the beach...

Yay for the beach! I miss it. Glad you guys had fun over Ryan's short break. There's a light at the end of the tunnel now. What is Ryan thinking in regards to residencies or specializing?

What a fun time not every one gets to go to a beach like that. Love the pictures.
