Christopher's Preschool Christmas Program

The children worked really hard on learning these songs but on the day of the performance, on Wednesday, December 12th, most of them had stage fright...
After the performance the kids served their parents cookies that they rolled out, cut, and decorated, along with hot chocolate too.

Christopher

This one is our favorite!
Emily and Christopher are so cute together.  We are so thankful to have Emily in our family, she has brought the family together, the boys just adore her.  On December 5th Emily climbed into bed with Christopher and kept saying, "night-night", Christopher even shared his blanket with her...
Christopher has said some pretty funny things lately...
We were driving in the car and Kara told Christopher that we had to go to a store...
Christopher: "What store?"
Kara: "WalMart"
Christopher: "That is NOT my favorite store.  I am going to put on my grumpy face"

We were reading books together...
Christopher: "I know what sheep starts with."
Kara: "Oh yeah, what?"
Christopher: "A"
Kara: "Oh"
Christopher: "yeah 'cause sheep says, "baa"'
the "A" says "aaa"

Emily and Christopher were playing when he comes to Kara...
Christopher: "Mommy, Emily ripped this" (it was a page out of a coloring book)
Mommy: "I am sorry"
Emily walks over and looks up to Kara with her big blue eyes and smiles.  Kara couldn't help but smile back.
Christopher: "Don't put on a smile face for her, she just ripped this!"

Our life would be boring with out our little "Apple Guy" as Emily calls Christopher.

Christmas Spirit

On November 27th for Family Home Evening we made our yearly Christmas ornaments.  Every year we get a new ornament for every member of our family, this is something that Ryan's family did when he was growing up and wanted to continue the tradition. After looking at the stores and prices I decided we could make our own that would be a TON cheaper and look better.  I had seen a few ideas floating around the internet and found some by Martha Stewart made from buttons.  I thought it would be perfect since I have a huge container of miscellaneous buttons.
Emily's is a snowman, we did it yellow instead of black because her favorite color is yellow...
Emily wanted to wear it as a bracelet instead of hanging it on the tree
Christopher's is an elf...
Nathanial's is a wreath; he picked out all the beads and made it all by himself...
Kara's is Santa...
and Ryan's is a reindeer...
This year for Christmas Ryan's oldest brother gave us tickets to go to Tinsel Town at Playhouse Square in downtown Cleveland on Saturday, December 1st.  We told the kids that we were going to go to the North Pole.  They weren't sure how we were going to do that so we came up with a story to tell them. We said that we were going to the North Pole, we had to park our car and then walk through a magic tunnel and a magic portal and we would be in the North Pole.  The parking garage was connected to the theater so that was our tunnel.  The magic portal was just the doors to enter into the theater.  The boys have never been to the theater and since it is older and doesn't look like anything that they have seen before they believed us!
decorating goody bags
There was an amazing clown there, he was whipping out balloons so fast.
Christopher got a snowman and Nathanial got a fishing pole with a fish
Decorating gingerbread men...
Instead of making a balloon for Emily he gave her a blowup hammer which she kept hitting Ryan with...
Making a beaded bell necklace...
SANTA...
They also make candy cane reindeer...
Making beaded snowflakes...
The kids also were able to decorate a sugar cookie and eat it...
The last booth was face painting...
After we finished the booths we sat down for a snack, pretzels and popcorn...
I think that the theater is a majestic place...
