New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve (December 31st) we headed to Kirtland, OH.  Denisse wanted to take Brielle and Braden on the tour of the historic sites.
There is something so beautiful and reverencing about the Kirtland area.  I am glad that we have had the opportunity to live here and to see what a wonderful area this is.
Kids in front of the Newel K. Whitney Store (Brielle, Christopher, Braden, and Nathanial)
If you're happy and you know it...
It's a barrel of monkeys!
Inside the store...
Christopher was NOT being good so I took him outside while everyone else finished looking around and taking the tour.
What an imp!

We tried for a picture of our family, but the more you add the harder it is to get everyone looking at the camera and smiling
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We decided to start the tradition of fondue for New Year's Eve.  After several failed attempts at making a good cheese sauce Ryan was able to perfect it (or at least come pretty darn close).  We made the spinach artichoke dip from the Melting Pot.
Yum!
Pure delight (our boys LOVE fondue!)
The second course was a broth where we cooked shrimp, lobster, chicken, and beef.
SO GOOD!!
Later that night Nathanial lost his 2nd tooth!  He is growing up so fast!  I was the one who was able to pull it out.  After trying to use floss I gave up and just grabbed the tooth and yanked it out.
Missing his 2 front teeth
Looking at his tooth
Smile
The tooth fairy came and brought him another gold dollar!
After we sent the kids to bed we were planning on making a chocolate fondue dip for the adults but we were still full from dinner so it never happened.  Also on New Year's Eve Ryan went to the airport to pick up some friends.  Their plane came in at midnight so he left just after 11, so I missed my new years kiss :(
Scott and Denisse left on the 1st after Church to head home.

After Christmas

Here are our new ornaments for this year...
Emily (Nathanial's first ornament is in the background)
Ryan's ornament
Christopher's ornament
Kara's ornament
A new ornament that our neighbors gave to us.
For some reason I don't have a picture of Nathanial's ornament. His is a Shepard to remind him about him being the Shepard in the Church Christmas play.
Playing with all the new toys they received for Christmas
We finally had some snow (at least for a day or two) on December 28th, so we bundled up and headed outside.
Nathanial and his shovel
Christopher sitting in the snow
A "junk" of snow. junk=chunk
Ryan shoveling the walkway
Scott had an interview for a residency program on December 29th so Scott, Denisse, and the kids came to stay with us on the 28th and stayed through the 1st.  It was a fun and relaxing visit.  Denisse has blogged about it on her blog, click HERE
There was a dinner on the 28th for Scott and Denisse so they dropped the kids off and went to dinner.
The girls were hanging out in their Bumbo seats. (Emily sure loves bacon!)
Emily was born in May and Brooke was born in August, for being 3 month age difference they don't look it.
I think Brooke is eying that bacon
We have Skinny-Minnie and Chunky-Monkey!  Aren't they cute?
Nathanial and Braden playing Mario Kart Wii
We decided that there isn't a whole lot to do in Cleveland in the winter that is FREE or cheap so on Friday, December 30th  we headed to Chik-fil-a for lunch since it has an indoor playground.
Emily was making some funny faces!
Later that night we broke out the Wii and the kids played Just Dance Kids 2
Brielle, Nathanial, and Braden dancing.  Ryan was trying to help Christopher
When "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" came on Scott just had to join in.
...shoulders...
...knees...
...and toes...
This is by far Nathanial's favorite game!
