Ward Campout 8/12-8/13

On Friday, August 12th we headed off to our Ward Camp Out at the John Johnson Farm.  The boys didn't take a nap this day and this is what they looked like as we left the house.

Christopher camping with his "coon" hat.
Emily was happy to be there.

Christopher sitting by the fire with our friend, Sage.
Ryan cooking our dinner, tin-foil dinners.
Yummy!
Emily looked really cute in Christopher's hat (even though she doesn't look happy)
Christopher washing his hands.
Eating s'mores.
Yummy, marshmallow!
Christopher and Wyatt were running around holding hands and playing.
Christopher wanted to put his marshmallow on this stick.
He did it!
Daddy cooking more marshmallows.
Nathanial playing in the fire in the morning while we wait for breakfast.
Wyatt, Nathanial, Anela, and Christopher
Emily sucking her thumb while she waits to go home.
The camp out was really fun.  I'm glad that we have such a great ward and great friends in our ward.  Emily slept really well and the boys had a blast.  I was eaten by mosquitoes and somehow got into poison ivy.  I think that I am done camping for the year!
After we packed up the car Nathanial asked if we could go inside the Johnson house. As we were driving from the camp site to the Johnson Home we saw a turtle on the road.  We stopped to see it and Ryan was going to bring it in the car to show the boys but a police car pulled up behind us.  Ryan ended up putting it on the side of the road.  We went back to look for it but couldn't find it.  Although, Ryan did find a snake. We decided that we were too tired from camping to take a tour of the home so we played on the large rock by the house instead. While we were there Ryan found this hairy caterpillar.

Street Fair

On Thursday, August 11th, a local church was sponsoring a street fair.  They had bubbles, fishing, sidewalk chalk, The Rocket Car, and a clown making balloon animals.
Getting ready to go for a ride on the Rocket Car.

They made us buckle Emily in the seat, Ryan couldn't hold her.

The boys were each given a balloon sword.

This picture reminds me of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys for some reason.

Fairport Harbor

Several members of our ward made a trip to Fairport Harbor on Tuesday, August 2nd.
In the background there is a large barge ship.
Maybe it was an oil tanker, I am not sure.
All I know is that it was really big and at the harbor
Ryan and Nathanial in the water.
Cute little Mily loved the water on her toes.

She LOVES the water

Nathanial and the sand
Christopher would rather play on the playground than play in the water.

Playing in the waves

Mily in her cute little swimsuit.
I know she isn't happy but she is cute in her swimsuit!

Listening to the Ocean :)

We have had a great time with Ryan during his 2 week break!  We also decided that if it is windy it is better to go to Highland's Beach but if it is calm it is better to go to Fairport Harbor.
